Why I teach IELTS
My name is Amy. I am originally from Shropshire in England. As a teenager I moved to Spain with no Spanish whatsoever. I know what it feels like to struggle, to feel frustrated, and to slowly build confidence in a language that is not your own.
That experience is at the heart of how I teach. I understand the pressure of speaking English when you are worried about making mistakes. I understand why certain errors keep happening. And I understand how much it means when everything finally clicks.
I qualified with the Trinity CertTESOL and later completed the Cambridge English Teacher course How to Teach IELTS, developed by Cambridge University Press and Cambridge English Language Assessment.
Since 2015 I have specialised in IELTS preparation with a particular focus on Speaking and Writing, the two areas where many students need the most support. Over the years I have helped hundreds of students from more than 20 countries achieve their target IELTS scores for university admission, immigration and work abroad
